Why do some autistic people chew?

Chewing provides strong proprioceptive input through the jaw, and some of our customers tell us that input is what makes a demanding part of the day manageable. Others use it to settle before sleep.

The difficulty is what gets chewed. Shirt collars, sleeves, pencils and fingers are the usual casualties, and none of them are safe or replaceable. A purpose-made chew gives the same input without the damage.

Everything here is food-grade silicone in a range of textures and firmness levels, because tolerance varies enormously. Necklaces and bangles suit older children and adults who want something that does not look clinical. Pencil toppers work well at a school desk.

Postage is free and tracked to every Australian address with no minimum. Chews go in the mouth, so once they are out of the packet we can't take them back on change of mind — our refund policy sets out the detail. Faults are a different matter entirely and we pay the return postage. Please supervise use and replace any chew that shows damage.
